Honoring Those Who Have Served

As American citizens, it is our responsibility to honor and respect the brave men and women who served in the military and that have risked their lives to protect our country. This includes providing housing for veterans that are homeless or facing homelessness. Sadly, many of these veterans are struggling with PTSD and other health issues, making it difficult to find a place to stay after their service has ended.

The number of homeless veterans is increasing each year, and it’s heartbreaking to think about these courageous individuals sleeping on the street or couch surfing because they can’t access safe, secure housing. To make matters worse, due to limited resources there are often long waiting lists for housing assistance programs designed specifically for veterans.

We owe it to all veterans — no matter their circumstances — to provide them with housing and support. We must honor their service and remember that they sacrificed so much for us, and deserve our respect.

That’s why it’s important to support organizations working to provide housing for veterans in need. Organizations like The National Coalition for Homeless Veterans and Temenos CDC are helping homeless veterans find safe, secure housing, as well as providing them with emotional support and access to healthcare services. By supporting initiatives like these, we can help ensure that all of our veterans have a place to call home.

Let's not forget the people who have given so much for our country — let’s do what we can to make sure that our veterans have the resources they need, and honor them by honoring their service with our support.

Thank you for your service. We will never forget the sacrifices you have made.
