A Humble Beginning (Home, Heart, People)

In the beginning of its development, the founders of Temenos CDC had three goals in mind that they wanted to accomplish in the city of Houston:

1. (Home) Provide housing for vulnerable individuals impacted by financial burdens and setbacks

2. (Heart) Treating those individuals with the love and respect that they all deserve

3. (People) Serving those people by providing them with food, shelter and clothing while helping them to regain the confidence needed to rebuild their life before being impacted by financial hardship

After over 20 years, these three goals are still what drives the mission at Temenos CDC today.

Each person that walks through the doors at one of the campuses at Temenos CDC can expect an experience that is both warm and embracing. There is an abundance of gratitude that fills the halls at Temenos. Each resident and employee are apart of a growing family filled with people from different walks of life. What unites this community and creates a common neutrality amongst both the resident and employees is the acceptance they have of one another no matter where they may have come from.

We all have a story to tell which makes us unique. Some of our stories are filled with tragedy or setbacks yet some are full of joy and laughter, but our past isn’t the full picture and isn’t the standard of which we should be judged when compared to others. The reason that Temenos continues to grow at the rate that has been over the past decades is that at the center of their mission the key components of which they have built this organization (Home, Heart, and People) remains the focus and moral standard of which their foundation has been built upon started by the founders Rudy and Juanita Rasmus.

As Temenos continues to innovate ways to answer a crisis that has impacted Houston for many years, Eva Thibaudeau CEO of Temenos CDC continues to commit and hold on to the vision that Rudy and Juanita Rasmus had in mind when starting the organization with hope that one day this crisis will end with every man, women, and child clothed, sheltered, and fed.
